Site Walk Best Practices
Make the most of your time conducting a site walk by following these best practices & tips using Condoit’s mobile app.
Before You Go
- Update App Version: Ensure Condoit’s app is up-to-date so you have access to the latest features and peak performance.
- Pre-load Information: Add site information, customer details, and company data beforehand.
- Check Access Issues: Sort out any access barriers such as security gate codes, badges, or the need for onsite assistance.
- Request Documentation: Ask for utility bills, electrical diagrams, and other relevant documents to enrich your reports.
- Include Onsite Notes: Include contact info, processes, reminders, directions, or other essential info to keep you on track.
- Define Scope of Work: Understand whether you're there for a survey, information collection, or to provide specific recommendations.
While Onsite
- Take LOTS of Photos: Capturing photos from different angles is key for informed decision-making—so don’t hold back!📸
- Measure with Precision: Whether using a tape measure or other equipment, maintain consistency in your units (e.g., inches or feet). 📏
- Identify Potential Hazards: Note any hazards, objects that may interfere, rust, damage, code violations, etc. ⚠️
- Voice-to-Text Is Your Friend: Use the microphone icon in the Condoit app to add voice notes as text, speeding up your process. 🎙️
- Look Out for Potential Business: Identify value-add prospects like lighting upgrades or digital diagram needs for your client. 💡
- Share the Proposed Site Walk Report: Send the final report to your manager for approval before leaving the site to avoid the need for a return visit. 📋
